Crop art and politics
It happens every year. Someone notices that there are political statements made at the Minnesota State Fair Crop Art exhibit/competition.

At the drop off
When I took my crop art entry to the Ag Hort Bee building I was surprised at the amount and quality of the entries this year. Really nice work. I'm excited to see everything up on the wall.
Aug. 18
Seed legend, put the picture in the frame, attached the legend, entry tag and name and address. Trying to follow the rules in the rule book. Ready to take this thing to the Fair.

Painted around the edge of the seeds so there's no white showing when the picture's in the frame. Also pasted a few more seeds here and there.

Timothy, amaranth, birdsfoot trefoil, red clover, white clover (almost every seed -- since I'm cleaning up little bits here and there). That's pretty-much it. Some tidying and making the seed card are left. (As always, click picture for a closer view.)

Paint. Getting ready to put the ground in. It will be red clover. Did a little fill-in work here and there. Crown vetch on the tire, red millet under the arm, red clover on the spoon and in the windshield.

Starting on some big seeds. Red millet.
It was suggested that in order to make the deadline (Mon., Aug. 18) I should finish the Festal can this weekend. Not working out that way. But I'm making progress.
